Debug Javascript


In this Javascript Tutorial, we will cover aJavascript debugging in Internet Explorer subject which is part of javascript debugging tutorials. In earlier part 1, we had covered basic debugging concepts if you recall. In part 2, we installed javascript debugger. In part 3, we debugged a HTML page in Firefox. In this tutorial, we will cover briefly how to debug javascript in Internet Explorer.

In earlier versions of Internet Explorer before 8, it was required to download and install a javascript debugger. With version 8, Microsoft added native javascript debugger to the IE 8. That native javascript debugger is disabled by default. To open it, we will need to go settings and enable.

Steps to open javascript debugger in Internet Explorer:
1. Go to menu "Tools", and click "Internet Options".
2. Navigate to the tab "Advanced".

In the options, remove the check from "Disable Javascript debugging". This will enable javascript debugger access.

After changing that setting, if a page which contains a javascript error is loaded. IE will pop up javascript debugger window. IE javascript debugger is similar to the other browsers.
