Installing Development web Server in PHP


In this PHP Tutorial, we will cover Installing Web Server step by step which is required to serve as development local server to test and debug PHP codes.

In Part 3, we had downloaded Zend Server to use as web development server for use PHP programming. In this part 4, we will install it step by step.

Click to the downloaded file, and installation wizard will pop up.

We click next. Next screen License Agreement, we select accept. Next screen we will select custom installation from options:

Next screen, navigate down and put a check to MySQL Server.

Next screen we will select Apache Web Server 2.2.22 Web Server to install instead IIS.

Next screen we will select port for virtual Apache Web Server listening. Leave default values if you are not using custom ports or new to web servers. If you have an installed web server IIS or similar, 80 port can be shown as occupied. In that case, you will need to assign another port for TCP listen to Apache Web Server. When you access to localhost web page, it will be required to add that port in browser.

Next screen is finalizing installation. Click "Install" to complete installation.

Installing Apache Web server can take long time, installer also downloads MySQL during installation. We finished installing web server with that installation. Next part (5) we will configure Apache Web Server.
