Explanation of DATEADD() function in SQL


DATEADD() SQL function can be used to increase a part of date with providing as the increment as parameter. For example, assume that we want to increase a SQL date column value by 2 year upward. In such cases, DATEADD() can be used.


Example of DATEADD() function in SQL


In order to demonstrate how DATEADD() works, we will use it in SELECT query. Lets check the date and time of database server and lets get our result date with increasing 10 year.
